At Anatomy Tattoo, we believe that tattooing isn’t just about art—it’s about making a meaningful impact on the community we cherish. We’re a collective of dedicated Portland tattoo artists who are passionate about giving back, not just to the city of Portland but beyond.
Charitable giving is at the heart of what we do. From organizing impactful fundraisers to making direct contributions, our goal is to support causes that matter. In 2016, we proudly raised and donated $15,000 to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), and in 2017, we contributed $7,500 to Planned Parenthood. These are just a few examples of the many ways we seek to make a positive difference.
Our commitment to social justice and community support hasn’t wavered, and we have no intention of slowing down. Every year, we actively seek out opportunities to help raise awareness, promote equity, and give back to the city that has provided us with so much. Whether through hosting charity events, collaborating with local organizations, or participating in city-wide initiatives, we strive to uplift Portland and its residents.
At Anatomy Tattoo, you’re not just getting ink—you’re contributing to a larger mission of support, compassion, and advocacy for important causes. We’re honored to be a part of this community, and we will continue to use our platform to foster positive change. When you choose us, you’re not only supporting local artists, but you’re also joining us in giving back to those in need.
What is the ACLU?
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), founded in 1920, serves as one of the most prominent defenders of civil rights and liberties in the United States. As our nation’s guardian of liberty, the ACLU works tirelessly to protect the constitutional freedoms guaranteed to all individuals in this country.
Operating in the courts, legislatures, and within communities, the ACLU takes on cases that challenge threats to civil liberties, ranging from free speech, voting rights, and racial justice, to LGBTQ+ rights, immigrants’ rights, and criminal justice reform. Through its extensive network of legal teams and advocacy efforts, the ACLU strives to ensure that the fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution—such as freedom of speech, the right to due process, and equal protection under the law—are upheld and protected for every individual, regardless of their background or circumstances.
By defending these rights in the courtroom and promoting progressive policy change, the ACLU continues to be a vital force in advancing justice, equity, and fairness in the United States. For over a century, the organization has been at the forefront of major legal battles that have shaped the course of civil rights history.
What is Planned Parenthood?
Planned Parenthood is a trusted and essential health care provider that has been at the forefront of reproductive health and education for over a century. As an organization, it is dedicated to offering accessible, high-quality health care and providing comprehensive information about sexual and reproductive health to millions of individuals each year.
In addition to offering a wide range of vital health services, such as birth control, cancer screenings, STI testing and treatment, and pregnancy-related care, Planned Parenthood is also an informed and passionate advocate for reproductive rights. The organization plays a critical role in defending the right to safe, legal abortion and ensuring that everyone, regardless of their income, identity, or location, has access to the care they need.
Beyond health services, Planned Parenthood is also an influential educator. Through both online resources and in-person programs, the organization empowers individuals with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their bodies and futures. Planned Parenthood also partners with similar organizations around the world to advocate for and deliver reproductive health care on a global scale.
With its commitment to inclusivity, advocacy, and education, Planned Parenthood has become a trusted source of care and a leading voice in the fight for reproductive justice and equitable health care for all.
