FAQ of Cosmetic Tattooing

What is cosmetic tattooing?

Cosmetic tattooing is otherwise known as semi-permanent makeup and includes microblading services. Semi-permanent make-up is the process in which colored pigment is implanted in the skin using a sterile, disposable needle to create the look of hair strokes, makeup, or to enhance the natural features of the face.

What Is Microblading?

Sometimes known as eyebrow embroidery or microstroking; microblading is a form of tattooing that is a semi-permanent cosmetic brow treatment to shape or fill in thin eyebrows that will create the look of hair strokes. Unlike makeup (pomade, pencil, etc) that you remove every night before you go to bed, eyebrow microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo procedure where a special handheld microblading tool is used to draw on strokes that mimic the appearance of real brow hairs. While it’s akin to getting a tattoo, the ink that is used is far less concentrated than that of a regular tattoo and is specifically formulated for the microblading process.

What is Microshading?

Microshading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo procedure. This technique can be done manually or with a machine. Microshading is layering many tiny dots throughout the brow creating a shadow/gradient effect, leaving your brows with a much fuller & thicker look. Almost as if they are always filled in with make-up to your liking!

What are combination Brows?

Combination brows are when you use the microblading technique with the microshading technique to achieve a natural, but filled-in look.

When you arrive we will start by thoroughly discussing what style and shape of brow you like and what looks good on you. Once you’ve approved the shape and size (the marking pen is intentionally very dark and easily removable) we will apply a numbing cream to your eyebrow area. Once you are numbed up we will begin your beautiful new brows!
